In May 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work French the Aperitif by Emile Pierre Metzmacher. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,440.68), 56% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emile Pierre Metzmacher; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot La cagale sold at auction in December 2005 with the realized price of GBP 16,200.00 (€ 23,513.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit French the Aperitif von Emile Pierre Metzmacher zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.440,68) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Emile Pierre Metzmacher; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit La cagale im Dezember 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 16.200,00 (€ 23.513,39).
