Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lavandières Au Bord D'Une Rivière by Emile Godchaux was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century Paintings and Drawings, 19th Century Sculptures auction at Artcurial in Paris in May 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 620.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emile Godchaux - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Barques De Pêcheurs À Quai En Provence, which sold at auction in May 2011 for EUR 1,735.00.
