Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction British & Continental Watercolours including Original Book, which included the work Inverlochy Castle, Scotland by Emil Axel Krause. The price achieved of GBP 82.25 (€ 116.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25.00 – 200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emil Axel Krause achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mont Orgueil Castle, Jersey in March 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,404.43).
