Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 223.25 (€ 341.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emile Wennerwald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dolce Far Niente On A South Italian Verandah in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,157.00).

Die Arbeit A lake by woodland on a sunny day von Emile Wennerwald wurde im Januar 2003 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 223,25 (€ 341,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emile Wennerwald erzielen.
