In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges, which included the work The Log by Elinor Bellingham-Smith. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,671.43), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Elinor Bellingham-Smith; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Resevoir sold at auction in October 2008 with the realized price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,461.24).

Im Dezember 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Log von Elinor Bellingham-Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.671,43) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Elinor Bellingham-Smith; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Resevoir im Oktober 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.461,24).
