A top price for Elias van Nijmegen - as previously expected
In July 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt, which included the work Dido And Aeneas by Elias van Nijmegen. The price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,016.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Dido And Aeneas is the most expensive artwork by Elias van Nijmegen that we have observed at auctions so far.
