In October 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Figures Unloading A Ferry By A Tavern by Elias Pieter van Bommel. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 10,450.00 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Elias Pieter van Bommel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch a Busy Harbour With Merchants Unloading Their Goods in December 2010 with an auction result of EUR 63,150.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures Unloading A Ferry By A Tavern von Elias Pieter van Bommel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 10.450,00 und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elias Pieter van Bommel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dutch a Busy Harbour With Merchants Unloading Their Goods im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 63.150,00.
