The price achieved of EUR 5,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Egbert van der Poel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Delft after the explosion of 1654 in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 111,150.00 (€ 171,923.88).
