Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Morning Star by Edwin Willard Deming was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 937.50 (€ 823.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Willard Deming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work George Washington at the Future Location of Fort Duquesne in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 13,200.00 (€ 10,404.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Morning Star von Edwin Willard Deming im Februar 2019 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 937,50 (€ 823,89) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Willard Deming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit George Washington at the Future Location of Fort Duquesne im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 10.404,35).
