Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edwin Masters could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction, the work Figures in a village; and In the farmyard changed hands for GBP 1,314.50 (€ 1,967.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edwin Masters - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep grazing under a pine; and Sheep in an extensive landscape, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 2,585.00 (€ 4,225.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edwin Masters konnte im März 2004 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Figures in a village; and In the farmyard für GBP 1.314,50 (€ 1.967,69) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edwin Masters mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sheep grazing under a pine; and Sheep in an extensive landscape beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 2.585,00 (€ 4.225,79) versteigert wurde.
