Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Horse in a landscape by Edward Troye was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 9,064.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Troye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American Colonel Virgil Gardner And His Huntsman in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 181,000.00 (€ 123,229.85).
