The work Flooding near Beccles by Edward Seago was sold in the British and European Art auction at Christies in London in December this year. It achieved a price of GBP 22,680.00 (€ 26,126.49), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Admittedly, works by Edward Seago have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Household Cavalry in the Mall in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 196,213.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Flooding near Beccles von Edward Seago wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 22.680,00 (€ 26.126,49) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Seago auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Household Cavalry in the Mall im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 196.213,48).
