Auction result well in line with expectations
The work English Possum Shooting by Edward Roper was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 3,120.00 (€ 1,865.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Roper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Goldfields Of Australia, Ararat in February 2019 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,912.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit English Possum Shooting von Edward Roper kam im August 2007 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 3.120,00 (€ 1.865,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Roper erzielen.
