In August 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work An unintended intrusion by Edward Henry Handley-Read. The price achieved of GBP 587.50 (€ 927.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, An unintended intrusion is the most expensive artwork by Edward Henry Handley-Read that we have observed at auctions so far.
