The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,068.49), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Morland Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Breakfast, which sold at auction in July 2012 for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,164.74).

Die Arbeit Spanish Town von Edward Morland Lewis wurde im Oktober 2013 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.068,49) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Morland Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Breakfast beobachtet, die im Juli 2012 für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.164,74) versteigert wurde.
