Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Travel & Natural History, which included the work Garden view over looking the Jhelum River; and Sunset in the Lidder Valley, Kashmir by Edward Molyneux. The price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,236.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Molyneux - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Rose, which sold at auction in December 2021 for USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,896.45).
