Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Sporting Sale: Equestrian, Wildlife & Maritime Art, which included the work British Polly, Rose And Wasp In A Courtyard by Edward Lloyd. The price achieved of USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,041.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Lloyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The day's bag, which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,273.14).
