Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Still life with coffee pot by Edward Le Bas. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,377.50 (€ 8,317.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Le Bas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Early morning, Waterloo Bridge, which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,040.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with coffee pot von Edward Le Bas zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.377,50 (€ 8.317,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Le Bas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Early morning, Waterloo Bridge beobachtet, die im Dezember 2012 für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 20.040,76) versteigert wurde.
