Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Grapes, Raspberries, Walnuts, A Wine Glass, An Ornamental Platter And An Ivory Casket On A Marble Ledge by Edward Ladell for USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,167.33). This price was achieved in the auction The Gilded Age Revisited: Property from a Distinguished American Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Ladell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With A Blue And White Vase, Peaches And Grapes; Still Life With A Bird'S Nest, Fruit And A Silver Tazza, which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 42,000.00 (€ 62,333.26).
