Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work At Prayer by Edward Hughes. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,498.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British an English Artist Collecting Costumes In Brittany in February 2018 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 40,946.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit At Prayer von Edward Hughes zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.498,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Hughes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British an English Artist Collecting Costumes In Brittany im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 40.946,69).
