Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work The first gleam, early morning on Reigate Heath by Edward Henry Holder. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,227.29) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,800.00 – 2,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Henry Holder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Devil'S Cataract And Victoria Falls, From The West Bank Of The Zambezi River, which sold at auction in December 2017 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,440.15).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.151,00 (€ 3.227,29) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.800,00 – 2.200,00.
