Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work The boiling pot, Victorian Falls by Edward Henry Holder. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 540.00 (€ 799.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Henry Holder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Devil'S Cataract And Victoria Falls, From The West Bank Of The Zambezi River in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,440.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The boiling pot, Victorian Falls von Edward Henry Holder zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 540,00 (€ 799,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Henry Holder erzielen.
