Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings, which included the work Who'll buy my roses by Edward Charles Barnes. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,138.50 (€ 7,691.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Edward Charles Barnes have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2000 the work The Bird's Nest was auctioned for GBP 5,980.00 (€ 9,945.01).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.138,50 (€ 7.691,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
