Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Meet; Crossing The Ditch by Edward Benjamin Herberte was sold in the British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings auction at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,990.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Benjamin Herberte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Day At The Races, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 27,400.00 (€ 17,600.21).

Die Arbeit The Meet; Crossing The Ditch von Edward Benjamin Herberte wurde im Juli 2007 in der Auktion British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.990,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
