Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Shepherdess by Edward Atkinson Hornel was sold in the The Scottish Sale auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,375.00 (€ 7,552.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Atkinson Hornel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bluebell Wood in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 122,986.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Shepherdess von Edward Atkinson Hornel wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion The Scottish Sale bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.552,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Atkinson Hornel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Bluebell Wood im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.000,00 (€ 122.986,82).
