Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Brighouse Bay by Edward Atkinson Hornel was auctioned at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 17,750.00 (€ 21,028.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Atkinson Hornel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Bluebell Wood in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 122,986.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Brighouse Bay von Edward Atkinson Hornel kam im Oktober 2021 bei Bonhams in Edinburgh zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 17.750,00 (€ 21.028,96) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Atkinson Hornel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Bluebell Wood im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.000,00 (€ 122.986,82).
