In March 2011 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Terriers ratting by Edward Armfield. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,131.50) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Armfield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Terriers Ratting; And Terriers With A Fox And Pheasant in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,224.67).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Terriers ratting von Edward Armfield zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.131,50) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Armfield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Terriers Ratting; And Terriers With A Fox And Pheasant im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.224,67).
