In July 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Early British Drawings, Watercolours and Portrait Miniatures, which included the work Piazzetta San Marco, Venice by Edward Angelo Goodall. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,928.63), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Edward Angelo Goodall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Bride in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 90,000.00 (€ 71,292.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Early British Drawings, Watercolours and Portrait Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Piazzetta San Marco, Venice von Edward Angelo Goodall zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.928,63) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Angelo Goodall auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Bride im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 90.000,00 (€ 71.292,78).
