Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Good Reading by Eduard von Grützner was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,428.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eduard von Grützner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Heimliche Studie. 1892. in March 2018 with an auction result of CHF 102,500.00 (€ 87,283.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Good Reading von Eduard von Grützner im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.428,47) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eduard von Grützner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Heimliche Studie. 1892. im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 102.500,00 (€ 87.283,08).
