Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Christies in London held the auction Topographical Pictures, which included the work Rio de Janeiro by Eduard Hildebrandt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,980.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Eduard Hildebrandt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ein heiliger See in Birma in September 2003 with an auction result of GBP 57,360.00 (€ 57,777.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Topographical Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rio de Janeiro von Eduard Hildebrandt zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.980,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eduard Hildebrandt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ein heiliger See in Birma im September 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 57.360,00 (€ 57.777,16).
