In May 2016 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Pierrot's dream by Edouard Menta. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,914.68), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edouard Menta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Déjeuner sur la terrasse, which sold at auction in September 2012 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,548.23).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pierrot's dream von Edouard Menta zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.914,68) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edouard Menta mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Déjeuner sur la terrasse beobachtet, die im September 2012 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.548,23) versteigert wurde.
