Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2013 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work Courting The Maid by Jean Baptiste Édouard Detaille. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,482.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Baptiste Édouard Detaille achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Défilé De Cavalerie Aux Grandes Manoeuvres in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 65,324.01).

Im September 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Courting The Maid von Jean Baptiste Édouard Detaille zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.482,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Baptiste Édouard Detaille erzielen.
