Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A still life with champagne bottle and fruits by Edith van Campendonk-Leckwyck was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,875.00. Other works by Edith van Campendonk-Leckwyck have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2021 by the work La Paysanne Bretonne at EUR 3,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A still life with champagne bottle and fruits von Edith van Campendonk-Leckwyck im September 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Edith van Campendonk-Leckwyck wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2021 die Arbeit La Paysanne Bretonne mit EUR 3.000,00.
