Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Drawings, which included the work A Young Woman Interrupted By A Sorrowful Friend by Dutailly. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,500.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Other works by Dutailly have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in January 2010 the work L'Imitation De L'Antique And L'Admiration De L'Antique was auctioned for USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,419.61).
