This artwork by Duncan Grant achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Gordon Square sold for GBP 9,600.00 (€ 11,200.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Duncan Grant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vanessa Bell in a Yellow Shawl 72.7 x 51.5 cm. (28 5/8 x 20 1/4 in.) in November last year with an auction result of GBP 327,900.00 (€ 379,961.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Duncan Grant erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Gordon Square für GBP 9.600,00 (€ 11.200,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Duncan Grant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vanessa Bell in a Yellow Shawl 72.7 x 51.5 cm. (28 5/8 x 20 1/4 in.) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 327.900,00 (€ 379.961,23).
