Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Phillips in New York held the auction Latin America, which included the work Untitled (Don Getulio Vargas) by Dr. Lakra. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,858.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Dr. Lakra have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Pomada) in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 24,500.00 (€ 35,183.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Latin America durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Don Getulio Vargas) von Dr. Lakra zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.858,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dr. Lakra auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Pomada) im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.500,00 (€ 35.183,61).
