Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work The Wise and Foolish Virgins by Dorothy Fitchew for GBP 62.50 (€ 76.01). This price was achieved in the auction The Nicolette Wernick Collection British Watercolours and Paintings (1800-1950) at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothy Fitchew achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,668.44).

Im Juni 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Wise and Foolish Virgins von Dorothy Fitchew für GBP 62,50 (€ 76,01) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Nicolette Wernick Collection British Watercolours and Paintings (1800-1950) bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothy Fitchew erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roses im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.668,44).
