This artwork by Dorothea Sharp achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in September last year. In the Blazing a TrailModern British Women auction, the work Spring flowers sold for GBP 22,950.00 (€ 26,119.32) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Dorothea Sharp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In The Orchard, Picking Plums in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,759.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dorothea Sharp erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women wurde die Arbeit Spring flowers für GBP 22.950,00 (€ 26.119,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dorothea Sharp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit In The Orchard, Picking Plums im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.000,00 (€ 124.759,39).
