This artwork by Dorothea Sharp achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in September this year. In the Blazing a TrailModern British Women auction, the work Children paddling at the water's edge sold for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 38,400.00) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dorothea Sharp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In The Orchard, Picking Plums, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,759.39).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Dorothea Sharp erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women wurde die Arbeit Children paddling at the water's edge für GBP 38.400,00 (€ 38.400,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Sharp mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit In The Orchard, Picking Plums beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 84.000,00 (€ 124.759,39) versteigert wurde.
