The »bidding war« ended at USD 200,000.00 (€ 171,703.30), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dorothea Lange - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Migrant Mother, 1936, which sold at auction in February 2016 for USD 389,000.00 (€ 357,931.54).

Die Arbeit White Angel Bread Line, San Francisco, 1933 von Dorothea Lange wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion Important Photographs from the Collection of Donald and Alice Lappé bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 171.703,30) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Lange mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Migrant Mother, 1936 beobachtet, die im Februar 2016 für USD 389.000,00 (€ 357.931,54) versteigert wurde.
