Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Dorothea Lange achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. In the Classic Photographs auction, the work Maynard Dixon sold for USD 22,680.00 (€ 19,472.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothea Lange achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Migrant Mother, 1936 in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 357,931.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dorothea Lange erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Classic Photographs wurde die Arbeit Maynard Dixon für USD 22.680,00 (€ 19.472,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Lange erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Migrant Mother, 1936 im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 357.931,54).
