The work Crushed Car by Dorothea Lange was sold in the Made in CaliforniaPhotographs auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,400.00 (€ 5,785.57), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothea Lange achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Migrant Mother, 1936 in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 357,931.54).

Die Arbeit Crushed Car von Dorothea Lange wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Made in CaliforniaPhotographs bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.400,00 (€ 5.785,57) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Lange erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Migrant Mother, 1936 im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 357.931,54).
