Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Built in Texas by Texans (Berkeley, California) by Dorothea Lange was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December this year. The price achieved of USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,471.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothea Lange achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Migrant Mother, 1936 in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 357,931.54).

Die Arbeit Built in Texas by Texans (Berkeley, California) von Dorothea Lange kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.471,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Lange erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Migrant Mother, 1936 im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 357.931,54).
