Auction result well in line with expectations

In April this year Phillips in 29 March - held the auction Dorothea Lange: The Family Collection, Part Two - Online Auction, which included the work Boy and Two Men, Ireland by Dorothea Lange. The price achieved of USD 3,810.00 (€ 3,451.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothea Lange achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Migrant Mother, 1936 in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 357,931.54).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April diesen Jahres führte Phillips in 29 March - die Auktion Dorothea Lange: The Family Collection, Part Two - Online Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boy and Two Men, Ireland von Dorothea Lange zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.810,00 (€ 3.451,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Lange erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Migrant Mother, 1936 im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 357.931,54).
