Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Deposition of Christ by Domenico Piola was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July this year. The price achieved of GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,704.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Domenico Piola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alexandre et la famille de Darius in June last year with an auction result of EUR 1,842,000.00.
