Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Recto: Prometheus bound Verso: Calligraphic exercises by Dirck de Quade van Ravesteyn was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The price achieved of USD 5,670.00 (€ 5,057.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dirck de Quade van Ravesteyn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Mystic Marriage Of Saint Catherine Of Alexandria in June last year with an auction result of USD 75,600.00 (€ 72,213.20).

Die Arbeit Recto: Prometheus bound Verso: Calligraphic exercises von Dirck de Quade van Ravesteyn kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.670,00 (€ 5.057,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dirck de Quade van Ravesteyn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Mystic Marriage Of Saint Catherine Of Alexandria im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 72.213,20).
