In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Drawings, which included the work Head Study Of A Young Man, Looking Upwards by Dirck Helmbreeker. It changed hands for a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 34,619.65) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Head Study Of A Young Man, Looking Upwards is the most expensive artwork by Dirck Helmbreeker that we have observed at auctions so far.
