Upper estimate price exceeded by 50%
The work Purukuparli by Declan Apuatimi was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. It achieved a price of AUD 9,000 (€ 5,095), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Declan Apuatimi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot sold at auction in November 2007 with the realized price of AUD 12,000 (€ 7,229).

Die Arbeit Purukuparli von Declan Apuatimi kam im Juli 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 9.000 (€ 5.095) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Declan Apuatimi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit im November 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 12.000 (€ 7.229).
