Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work British the Lady Of Shallot by David Wilkie Wynfield. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,299.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by David Wilkie Wynfield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Anne Boleyn And Percy in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 27,159.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit British the Lady Of Shallot von David Wilkie Wynfield zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.299,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Wilkie Wynfield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Anne Boleyn And Percy im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 27.159,04).
