Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,020.00 (€ 834.01). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Thimgan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work U.S.S. Congress off Santa Cruz Island, California, 1846 12 x 18in, which sold at auction in March 2020 for USD 3,570.00 (€ 3,236.92).
